we'll check in with bob at sfo near sfo throughout the morning. the passengers and crew most seriously injured in the asiana airlines crash were rushed to san francisco general hospital. it's the city's only level 1 trauma for and it received 53 patients. this morning, six people remain in critical condition, including a child. a spokeswoman for the hospital said in total, 27 adults and 26 children were treated. so far, only seven have been discharged. benjamin leavy was one of the patients taken to sf general. he's a 39-year-old who happened to be sitting in an exit row when the plane crashed on the tarmac and amazingly, he ozable to walk away from the burning plane. he said he can't believe more people weren't killed. >> trying not to scream, push each other. people were so confused and traumatized. you know, no code from the captain, press for emergency landing or engine failure. nothing. >> hospital officials say the patients injuries ranged from burns and broken bone to head and spinal cord injuries. this morning, still conflicting informatio

sfo this evening. two of the four runways opened a couple of hours ago to allow planes to land and take off. but sfo says that it is working as quickly as it can to open the other two. hundreds of flights were canceled today and you can imagine there's a backlog. so if you're flying out you want to check with your airline to see if that flight will be on time. >> other arriving flights diverted to oakland international airport. some people who were waiting for the departing flights had a pretty hard time getting information. there was a lot of confusion. a lot of people who didn't know what was going on. they waited for their flights pretty hard to get the info. many of them scrambled to find a flight from other bay area airports as well. a woman who went to oakland said she was waiting for her departing flight at sfo and witnessed the crash. >> it just looked like a big ball of smoke. there was fire trucks and cops and -- you know, all sorts of stuff just going down and yeah. big smoke. >> at that poi
